This guide adds a Call button to your own CRM or app. When a counsellor clicks it, their phone rings; when they answer, Telleo dials the lead and connects them. The call, its recording and its outcome come back to your CRM. Read Human calls for how it works. You need: an API key created with Can ring counsellors (human calls) ticked, which gives it human_calls:read and human_calls:write (Authentication); a calling provider connected under Settings → Calling; and counsellors who can call (can_call: true).
1

Match your users to Telleo counsellors

Fetch the list once and whenever your team changes:
Store each counsellor’s id against your own user (matching by email is easiest), or simply send counsellor_email on every call. Show blocked_reason next to anyone with can_call: false, so they know what to fix (usually a mobile number on their Telleo profile).
2

Place the call when the button is clicked

Call the API from your server, never from the browser (the key must stay secret):
3

Show why a call was refused

Every refusal has a stable code and a readable message. Show the message to the counsellor; branch on the code where it helps:
4

Update the lead when the call ends

Subscribe to webhooks (Webhooks overview) and handle the human-call events:
On Exotel and Airtel the call status only changes when the call ends (Airtel: when its call record arrives), so rely on the webhook rather than on polling for live progress.
5

Record the outcome (optional)

If counsellors pick the outcome in your CRM rather than in Telleo, send it back so Telleo’s reports and the linked lead stay in step:
Valid keys: GET /v1/dispositions.

Testing

There is no test mode for human calls: every call rings a real phone. Test with your own number as the contact and yourself as the counsellor, inside calling hours.
